Add One Thing to Your Routine and Take One Out
Every human being on the planet has some form of a routine. Even if you just wake up and decide what to do everyday, you still have a routine of making that decision. Now, think of everything that you do on regular basis (assuming you don't wake up and decide what to do every day), and think about which of those things has a positive impact on your life. For example, if you brush your teeth in the morning, that would have a positive impact. On the contrary, if you smoke cigarettes, that would be classified as a negative routine.
Since routines are re-occurring, every part of your routine will have a lasting impact on your life. If you brush your teeth every day, you will likely still be eating solid foods well into your retirement. And, if you smoke cigarettes every day, you're odds of even making it to retirement are drastically decreased. Now, consider each and every routine you have. Think about what you do when you fall asleep, when you wake up, when you go to work, when you take a break, when you get off of work, etc.
Which of those routines are helping you, and which ones are hurting you? I challenge you to add one positive thing to your routine, and to take one away. If you don't brush your teeth twice per day, add that. If you don't get eight hours of sleep per night, add that. If you don't exercise enough, add that. Then, give up soda pop, going to the bars, or even hitting the nooze button. What you add and give up has to be decided by you, so make sure you're getting the most out of your life. Give it a try, and let us know how it changed you!
